Team India's star batsman Rohit Sharma, who made his debut in Test matches as opner , has made history in the first Test match against South Africa in Visakhapatnam. 

In the history of Test cricket, Rohit Sharma has become the first batsman in the world, who scoring a century in both innings of his first Test match as a opner. No batsman in the world has done this feat before Rohit Sharma. 


The 32-year-old Rohit Sharma played a inning of 176  and 127 in the both innings of the first Test match against South Africa in Visakhapatnam. Rohit hit twin hundreds in maiden Test as opener.

Rohit Sharma became the first opener to score a century in both innings of a Test match for India after 41 years. Earlier in 1978-79, Sunil Gavaskar had done a great job for India by scoring a century in both innings. 


Its Rohit's fifth century after playing 28 Test matches for India so far. Rohit's best score in Test cricket is 177 runs. Before Rohit, Vijay Hazare, Sunil Gavaskar, Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane have scored centuries in both innings of a Test match.
