The Government
imposed a Ban on Rapido Riders on Feb 20 2023 to maintain rules and Regulations
on the road. Apart from Ban, The Ministry of Travel has also imposed a Fine of
Rs. 1 Lakh for everyone who will not follow the Rule or tries to ride or use
Bike Taxi in Delhi-NCR.
What is Rapido?
Rapido is a Bike Taxi
Service Company same to Ola & Uber that provides Bike Taxi Services. It is
an app where you can book a Bike as a Taxi to travel. Unlike Ola & Uber
which offer Car and Auto taxi services, Rapido offers only Bike Services.
Who will got Affected
After the Government
imposed a Ban on Bike taxis for Apps like Rapido, Ola & Uber, there is a
debate started on Twitter about whether the decision of the Government is Right
or Wrong. Although there is no chance of the Government taking their Decision
Back, There is a list of People who will be affected by this Ban on Bike taxis.

Full Time Bike Taxi Drivers
The Ban of Bike Taxi in Delhi NCR for Apps such as Rapido, Ola & Uber will most likely affect Full-Time Rapido Drivers as they solely depend on It. According to Data provided by Social Apps Regulations Authority, Nearly 15 to 25 % of People working with Rapido Bike Services are working as a Full Time Drivers. The question that occurs now is that after the Ban on Bike taxis, What will they do to earn as the Rapido App is the root source of their Income.

Part Time Bike Taxi Drivers
Apart From Full-Time Drivers, Individuals are working as Part-time Bike Taxi Drivers to earn some Extra to live their livelihood. Although being a Bike Taxi Driver is not their sole Job, it cannot be ignored that this was helping them to make their lives a little more convenient.

Tiffin Service Drivers
Tiffin Services is used in Metropolitan Cities to deliver Food Packages from an Employees home to their workplace. Travel Partner Apps such as Rapido, Ola, and Uber are being used to do Tiffin Services. After the Ban on Bike Taxi Services is imposed in Delhi on 20th Feb, the Tiffin Services in Delhi-NCR will also be affected. It means that you will likely need to carry a tiffin box just like in the old days (Just Kidding) because the Tiffin Services that you are using previously will be got stopped.

Working Class
It is not needed to
Forget that after Bike Taxi Drivers, the category most likely will affect after
Ban on Bike Taxi Drivers will be Working Class and Salaried Employees as they
are the target clients of Rapido, Ola & Uber. After the Ban on these Bike
Taxi Services, these Categories will likely travel again by Public Transport
Means such as buses, Metro, Private Transport Vehicles, etc.
Reason of Ban
Although there is various reason stated by Government for imposing a Ban on Bike Taxi Services, The Department of Travel and Transport Authority has stated in their Statement that the ban is imposed because the Bike Taxi Riders are not Following Road Safety Rules such as Not Wearing helmets, Rash Driving and Not Following Traffic Rules.
